Merry MayWhen I hear the sound "Mer-ry", I know that I should expect to'do something' like come, sit, lay down or sit up, for which I receive a critter cracker and drool my delight.
Earlier this year a 'Bunch' of e-mailers got a note for 'HELP' about our upcoming availability. I was one of one hundred and eighty-so the message said, who had to be sold because of that persons need for medical adjustments and attention (unreliable help).
At the time of the 'help' note, my new mom was learning of the state of the situation. Eight counties around my home to be, had reported increasing numbers of pet thefts and speculation on usage was in the air, not to mention usda hearings re: minimum standards for us with four legs.
The friends in cyberspace were mobilizing, this 'Bunch' of typetalkers, made phone calls, sent $'s and people to be present for our auction day
. A couple of friends arrived to see us on Friday, us being=eight female penmates and two male-mates. At 10 am on the 23rd the auction began, the bidding got close to 4 figures a few times. Late afternoon, most of us were moved to go on a journey. The friends called us the Missouri-8 and all but Tadpole has a new human/e home.
About this home I'm in now, my new mom makes me bathe-suppose to keep my red coat red not the brown of my arrival, we sofashare, dance for treats, dad must get a couple of welcome jumps and I play teasetag with my step sister. We carride to places and meet others like and not like me. Go for walks to sniff anything that came before. In the bigyard, I run after the rabbits and squirrels who are silly enough to wander around my new space. I'm glad for my new home, my last home. The ole tail wags an awful lot these days and thanks to all who deemed us worthy, I'm happy now to do as I may, Merry
