About Ellie...

EllieMay, the babe of the MO-8 pack is a pretty girl, although small in stature for her 18 months in March. Her new home arrangements were in place before Paul Fornelli drove the stormy 15 hours to the Show-Me state.

The Thornton's live in eastern Illinois with a canine crew of shelties and german shepherd dogs. Lily Luster of Ramsey Creek Kennels drove-in and brought Ellie as well as Granny (aka Roz' Timber Tracker) back. Granny charmed her foster parents and is now a permanent resident of the Laswell household.

Lt. Christine Thornton is an experienced GSD handler and was quite happy to discover the ease of training this girl. They train three times a week, working with their local group. Ellie is always eager to go to these sessions, her innate desire to work is evident as she goes jumping into their transport - no clock required.

Ellie has been good inside the home, she has not stolen socks, shoes or eaten the furniture, -her penchant is electrical wires - even with chewtoys available for the taking.

This girl loves to run and run on their 20 acres of fenced land. Her new found freedom has done some damage to mama natures' trees - in the form of bare-trunkedness, she likes a good chew. For her safety, there are times she must be kenneled.

Lucky Chris, this one likes the extra attention that goes with clipping nails - unheard of in many neighborhoods.

At informational exhibits Ellie has been a favorite with children and adults. She graciously receives their love and affection. And yes invariably someone will ask, "is it okay to pet her" as she's leaning with all her weight into them. We in the Bunch are pleased as punch for Ellie n'Illinois.
