hope lucky

(Posted 4/28/98) - HOPE AND LUCKY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!
In case you missed it, below is their story....

Hope and Lucky came to us on January 2, 1998. Their names came from a "name the rescues" contest which we held for fun on the Bloodhound Bunch list. Given their circumstances the names are very appropriate.

Hope appears to be around 4 or 5 years old, and Lucky is about 2 years old. We think that they are mother and son. Both are extremely sweet and very bonded to each other. Lucky is always looking out for Mom, making sure that she is tucked in at night before he'll go to bed. Lucky is very outgoing and personable, and Hope is a little more apprehensive and hesitates only slightly when faced with new situations. It appears as though Hope has had several litters.

They have been diagnosed as heartworm positive, and will be starting treatments soon. Once treatment is complete and they are spayed and neutered they will be ready for their new homes.

I would like to again thank the Bloodhound Bunch for their tremendous generosity. Without them Hope and Lucky would not be able to have the treatment that they needed.

Here are descriptions of the two dogs we have now:

HYLDA: a 5 year old red female, spayed, current on vaccinations and heartworm negative presently being fostered in Ohio. A very sweet dog, a little shy, and not really good with children (according to her foster mom).

DUKE: *ADOPTED* (Posted 6/15/98) a 2 year old red male, neutered, current on vaccinations and heartworm negative. Duke is a sweetheart. Gets along with kids and other dogs. May have been kept outdoors as he doesn't have a lot of house manners. Extremely strong, but not very big. Could possibly be a good trailing prospect, as he uses his nose all the time.

Please contact Kathy Reid at kathyreid@sympatico.ca for more information on these deserving hounds.
