Before Myles turned two years old he got a four point major under Judge John P. Wade in Terre Haute Indiana and a three point major win under Judge Shelly S. Hennessy at Louisville Kentucky.
Myles is a very special boy. He is Mayflower Bloodhounds first Champion. He was not an easy dog to show. He often kept me on my toes and was full of surprises. I used to joke that Myles was going to make me work for every point he earned. Our first show together he refused to go down the many steps at the show arena. I realized it was because his wrinkles were covering his eyes and he couldn't see his feet as he stepped down the steps. I promised him that if we got through that show I'd never show him again. Well, he won BOB his first show ever and I had to break my promise to him. We continued to go to shows for a couple of years together.
He was never a top 20 dog but he had a fan club as if he were. Every time I went to a show with Myles there were people that I didn't know waiting to see him. It was all too common to walk up to the show site with some total strangers yelling, " There's Myles!" My son, Andrew, and I used to joke that Myles needed bodyguards just to get from our car to the show ring at any given show. Myles and I earned all of his points together except for one. Sometimes I would let Jimmy, my husband, show him. Myles always thought it was funny when he took Daddy in the ring. I could tell from his expression and carriage when he was with his Daddy.
Myles is the dog of my dreams. Every time I look at him I fall in love. I've joked that if he were a real man I'd marry him. It is a good thing my husband has a sense of humor and loves Myles too.
